This page looks at the general ecosystem level processes that operate on invasive species and the ecosystems which they inhabit. While not essential for practical management, it will build on practical examples an understanding of the scientifc concepts involved aids understandign of the literature that will be provided to you later in the course and also allows for better engagement between experts and practitioners which is advantageous to all. This module will primarily serve those not comming from and academic background and thos who feel they are not up to speed on the more recent developments in the field.
There is a UK focus to to the examples given but with a little background reading it could easily be useful to those of you coming from further afield. The page will comprise a document store of useful reading materials, video lectures, a mid-course activity and a final assessment which will be through a mid-length essay. The final assessment will be marked by one of our course team and you will receive full feedback, a grade and a certificate of completion of this segment.
