We understand that the jump between secondary school and college can feel like a big one and we want to make sure that your transition is as smooth as possible.  So to help prepare you for starting with us in September, our industry specialist teaching staff have put together a selection of resources and learning materials for each of our courses. Please click on your course below to download the resource:

    • Ideas to prepare you for your next steps into an Animal Management course at College - read, watch, listen and get involved!

    • Learn about the Five Animal Needs and how important these are to the care of animals, to promote good health and prevent diseases and parasites.  If you have any issues with accessing the link above, try this link instead.

    • Zoo cage environmentWhen housing zoo animals it is essential to mimic their natural environment as much as possible. This can be done by creating an immersive exhibit that looks and feels as natural as possible, with loads of foliage, rocks, climbing frames and water sources; or controlling and changing the environmental factors such as the temperature, humidity and lighting.

But one aspect of housing animals that is commonly forgotten is an animal’s social requirements. By not recreating the proper social grouping some animals can exhibit behaviours that can damage both their physical and mental health.

    • Learn why it is important to have a routine when feeding animals, why keeping a record is important and how to maintain good health in your animals.  Have a go at the quiz at the end! If you have any issues with accessing the link above, try this link instead.

    • This accompanies the Animal Feeding Routines presentation, to test what you have learned

    • Use the information in this activity to find the answers for the quiz.  This activity opens in a pop-up.
