Dear all

Firstly, congratulations to all the Cornish clubs making it to the gala’s through the traffic chaos that ensued and I hope that you all got back safely and in a timely fashion!  I found the level of participation and energy on poolside invigorating and I hope that you enjoyed the event as much as I.

So, please find attached  (on a separate link) the gala spread sheets and the final results:

Paignton A            947         Tavistock               489         Torquay                 376

Devonport A         904         Penzance              475         Exmouth                301

Newton Abbot      765         Launceston           454         Devonport B           288

St Austell               728         Dawlish                 426         Paignton B            157

Truro                     712

Carn Brea             694

CONGRATULATIONS to PAIGNTON who won the competition for the first time and were pushed all the way by a strong Devonport contingent.  It was good seeing half of the finalists from Cornish clubs, with St Austell winning the battle to have bragging rights until next year!  With double points in the finalists’ gala, the positions were changing every race!

SO finally, looking forward to next season…John, our Treasurer, has done a fantastic job over many years and has finally decided to give up his role.  Being honest, having had this job foistered upon me, I’m not sure that I have the time or energy to continue, but understand that this is a great competition and MUST continue.  Is there any volunteers out there who would like to take it on or get involved??

With competition calendars being written, would it be good to organise dates NOW for next year?  I would appreciate your input by return.  April, June, July?

Kind regards

Adrian
