For the attention of all officials acting as Referees at ASA Licensed Meets
From ASA Dated 20/10/15
When signing and submitting the ASA Licensed Meet Referee Report Form, please be aware that YOU are confirming the following statement (amongst other things):
“I confirm that the levels and number of Licensed Officials appropriate to this level of Licensed Meet were met…”
Please note that this statement does not require a judgement call by the Referee; the numbers and levels of Qualification and Licence required for each level of meet are part of the Licensing Criteria and can be found here.
We have had a number of reports submitted recently where this statement has been signed by a Referee, but the corresponding Promoters’ reports have advised that the levels and number of Licensed Officials required for the level of Meet were not met. Obviously this then casts doubt on the other items covered by the report.
If you are asked to complete a Licensed Meet Referee Report Form, please ensure that it accurately reflects the situation at the meet. If you have any queries about your responsibilities in this area, please do not hesitate to contact me.
