Welcome to Cornwall Counselling Institute

We warmly welcome you to the Cornwall Counselling Institute (CCI), in partnership with the BACP, the NHS and the University of Plymouth. We pride ourselves on providing the highest standard of counselling training available in the Southwest. We offer taster days for those curious about the field, introductory Level 2 counselling courses and CPD workshops.

For those who wish to train for professional qualifications in counselling, we offer a Higher Education progression route, with our professional qualifying Diploma carrying BACP Gold Standard accreditation. This enables you to work independently as a counsellor. We have developed strong working relationships with over 20 external counselling agencies, schools, colleges and the NHS, all of whom provide work experience for our Diploma students.

We also run the largest low-cost counselling service in Cornwall, the CCI Counselling Agency, where students can also gain work experience. Under the umbrella of the CCI, we have recently developed a bespoke Foundation Degree in Counselling Psychology with Criminology for those with an interest in the field of criminal psychology and how to work therapeutically with perpetrators and victims of crime.
